PE 500 (HDPE) – High Density Polyethylene

Sheets | Rods | Pipes | Custom Machined Components

PE 500, commonly known as High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), is a high molecular weight thermoplastic belonging to the polyethylene family. It is one of the most widely used engineering plastics due to its excellent impact resistance, very low friction coefficient, high chemical resistance, and outstanding abrasion resistance.

In solid form, PE 500 (HDPE) is available as sheets, rods, and blocks for machining and fabrication applications.

Due to its balance of toughness, chemical resistance, and cost-effectiveness, PE 500 remains a preferred choice for industrial, food-grade, marine, and general engineering applications.

Description

It is extensively used in wear applications, liners, guides, food-processing components, and structural parts where durability and impact strength are essential.

HDPE offers excellent resistance to moisture, chemicals, and many industrial solvents. It does not absorb water, making it highly dimensionally stable in wet environments. The material is easy to machine, weld, and fabricate, and it performs reliably in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
